The SunSun YBF-600 is a hang-on canister filter: a sealed tray body that clips to the rim instead of a classic waterfall HOB box. Rated 8W and 600 L/H, the housing is about 225 × 100 × 255 mm and is a practical match for planted tanks up to roughly 130 litres on 60–80 cm lengths, with glass typically 12 mm or thinner. Listed specs: 8W · 600 L/H · up to 130L · glass ≤12 mm. Choose it when you want more media volume than the YBF-500 without moving to a cabinet canister. Three trays, a waste chamber, and a surface skimmer keep film and mulm off a planted scape while the pump stays on the rim. Hang the body, check the rim clip against your glass thickness, fill according to the primer instructions, then start. Never dry-run the impeller. Aim the outlet so stems are not sandblasted and CO₂ stays in the water rather than stripping at a jacuzzi surface. Rinse mechanical pads in tank water every two to four weeks. Do not bleach bio media. If flow drops, clear the intake and skimmer before buying a larger model. The 500 suits smaller rims. See our short comparison in Learn. **Will it hang on 12 mm glass?** It is specified for glass up to about 12 mm. Measure the rim before you order. **Do I still need a full HW canister?** Only if you want lily-pipe plumbing and cabinet silence. For rim-mounted tray media, the YBF-600 is the in-family step up from the 500. **How do I prime it?** Follow the included priming sequence until water fills the body, then plug in. A dry start can chew the impeller.
